Different Types of Inspections For Your Home:
There are many different types of home inspection processes that you may want to conduct before purchasing or selling a home.
It is always a good idea to have a residential inspection performed. The qualified home inspector will inspect the structure, exterior, roof, electrical, plumbing, HVAC, interior, insulation and ventilation. Once the inspection is completed, the home inspector will provide the buyer with a report suggesting any improvements or repairs deemed necessary to bring the home up to current standards. Typically, they will note the following: whether each problem is a safety issue, major defect, or minor defect; which items need replacement and which should be repaired or serviced; and items that are suitable for now, but that should be monitored closely.
Another very important home inspection process a buyer should have done before the purchase of a home is a termite/wood destroying organism inspection. As detailed in our “More on Pest Inspections" tab, this certified inspector will check for signs of structural damage caused by wood boring insects and wood decay fungi, as well as leaks, excessive moisture conditions, or any other conditions that may cause problems in the future.
Another important inspection is a roofing inspection. A certified inspector will do a comprehensive examination of the roof of a structure, including overall condition, water-tightness, and possibly an estimation of how long until the current roof should be replaced.

Why Are These Home Inspections Important?
Buying a home is one of the most important purchases one will ever make, therefore, it is always a good idea to have the proper inspections done, as it is an inexpensive way to discover the universal condition of a home. It is important to conduct these inspections to avoid a costly mistake by purchasing a property in need of major repairs. A good home inspection will assist a buyer in understanding exactly what they are about to acquire. A home may look move-in ready, but an inspector will cover features of the house such as electrical wiring, plumbing, roofing, insulation, as well as structural features of the home, and may unveil issues that are not noticeable to the buyer’s eye. As a buyer, you are making a vast investment, and it is important to understand exactly what you are purchasing.
A home inspection will definitely give the buyer peace of mind and put the buyer’s mind at ease that the home is in good shape. If you are a first-time home buyer, an inspection can give you a crash course in home maintenance and a checklist of items that need attention to make your home as safe and sound as possible. It can also become a negotiation tool in closing, and could inform the buyer of potential future maintenance and upkeep. Likewise, a seller of a home can also benefit from requesting a home inspection before the home is put on the market. This may assist the seller in setting a price, correcting any issues with the home before it is put on the market, or merely having a pre-inspection report available for potential buyers informing them that the seller has nothing to hide.
Any of the above home inspections may cost you a little bit of time and money, but in the long run, you’ll be glad you did it!
What We Do:
Here at Allstar Construction & Pest Management, Inc., we are licensed and certified to conduct termite/wood destroying pest and organism inspections, home inspections, and roof inspections, so that you can be well on your way to understanding the over-all condition of your home or perspective property.
In order to do a fair and unbiased inspection, under our general contractor's license, Allstar Construction & Pest Management, Inc. will not accept any repair work recommended in a general home inspection report for a period of 12 months, as our inspections are performed according to the Standards of Practice and Code of Ethics of the California Real Estate Inspection Association (CREIA), and Chapter 9.3 Sections 7195-7199 of division 3 of the California Business and Professions Code relating to Home Inspections. However, pursuant of Section 7197 (b) and Section 8585, as a structural pest control company, we retain the ability to perform repairs or necessary chemical applications recommended as a result of a structural pest control/WDO inspection and report.
Inspection Pricing & Savings:
A termite/WDO inspection and general home inspection can vary in price, depending on size of the structure, as well as other detached structures or outbuildings that the interested party or owner may opt to have included. Roofing inspections generally are one set price, though they are dependent on the number of structures included.
We understand that the buying and selling of a home can be a pricey and lengthy process, and it is our goal to help in any way we can to make this process as smooth and cost-effective as possible. Our ability to perform three of the main recommended inspections in one visit can significantly reduce the amount of time it takes to have the inspections performed, as well as the amount of time it takes to provide the inspection reports that can aide all parties in making important decisions regarding a property.
